Los descubrí esta mañana, en el programa "Siglo XXI", de Tomás Fernando Flores, en Radio 3. Me gustan. Son de Santiago y cantan en gallego, adaptando, con un particular estilo musical y una mezcla de sonidos realmente sorprendente, poemas de autores gallegos.
FANNY+ALEXANDER – FINAIS DOS 70s, COMEZOS DOS 80s (2007)
Os composteláns Fanny + Alexander voltan con "Finais dos 70s, comezos dos 80s", un segundo traballo no que de novo estenden os límites do pop galego a base da mestura desacomplexada de estilos, tradicións e sensibilidades. Nos doce temas que fan parte do disco o dúo deixa poucos paus contemporáneos sen tocar, dende o pop electrónico de "María Silenzo", "Amei-te tanto" ou "Funcionaria ou estudante" até o ton New Wave de "Danzarei para ti... se botas outra moeda", pasando por experimentos coma "Postpunkdeirada" -un tema que ven ser un novo estilo musical en sí mesmo- ou "Cando eu era mozo", unha boutade en clave R n' B que soa coma o faría Timbaland se tivese o seu estudo nunha palloza do Cebreiro e no que participa coma convidado estelar Carlos Valcárcel AKA Projecto Mourente. Continuando coa liña iniciada no seu debut, Lusco e Fusco, as letras de todos os temas son adapatacións de obras de poetas galegos (María do Cebreiro, Lois Pereiro, Daniel Salgado, Ricardo Carvalho Calero, Elvira Riveiro, Pilar Pallarés e Minus Bálido Rodriguez), incluindo ademáis coma bonus track "Berlín", o spoken word de María Lado musicado polo grupo, asi coma dúas remesturas a cargo de Projecto Mourente e unha peculiar versión de The Smiths.
O dúo compostelán Fanny+Alexander mestura elementos tan heteroxéneos coma melodías pop con ritmos tradicionais galegos, orquestracións barrocas coa electrónica máis arriscada ou rimas hiphopeiras con guitarras espaciais. Sempre explotando a infinda paleta de sons que proporcionan as novas tecnoloxías: sintetizadores, guitarras -midi, acústica e eléctrica-, instrumentos clásicos, vocoders, acordeóns, caixas de ritmos, cordas orquestrais, clicks n' cuts, pandeiros... e por suposto o uso e abuso do sampling máis intensivo. En defintiva, poñendo os alicerces para a contemporaneización da música pop galega a base de machucar estilos, regras e etiquetas.
